All about Indy’s hat

Steven Spielberg makes a valid point about the iconic impact of his famed archaeologist’s cranial wardrobe — aside perhaps from Bruce the shark and E.T., Dr. Jones is the only one of his characters who is instantly recognizable just from silhouette.

A big part of it is indeed that always-present fedora (it turns out that Harrison Ford uses a unique method of keeping it attached to his skull). We won’t see the much-anticipated new trailer for INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL until late next week, but for now you can get a glimpse at what Indy’s lid means to so many.
