Allen v. Farrow: HBO unveils trailer for new documentary series

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

HBO Max has released a teaser for Allen v. Farrow, a four-part documentary exploring the scandals behind the relationship including the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving Dylan, his then seven-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow;  their subsequent custody trial, the revelation of Allen’s relationship with Farrow’s daughter, Soon-Yi; and the controversial aftermath in the years that followed.

The project hails from On The Record team Kirby Dick, Amy Ziering, and Amy Herdy, who used home movies, court documents, police evidence, and never-before-heard audio tapes to piece the presentation together. The documentary will feature exclusive, in-depth interviews with Mia Farrow, Dylan Farrow, and Ronan Farrow, as well as family friend Carly Simon, prosecutor Frank Maco, relatives, investigators, experts, and other eyewitnesses. The series will also examine several films made by Allen, and how the scandal going public has influenced views of his work.

Is anyone else getting some real Leaving Neverland vibes from this upcoming documentary? Is Allen about to be thrown into the eye of a shitstorm when this series hits HBO Max? Exactly how deep does the rabbit hole go how will people's opinions of the filmmaker change by the end of this month? Only time will tell.
