Amber Heard emerges as Mera for James Wan’s Aquaman

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

While the Moviehotties section of JoBlo has moved on to its own domain, that won't stop us from posting a smoking hot photo of beautiful celebrities, every now and again. Speaking of which, a photo of Amber Heard as Mera, former Queen of Dimension Aqua (Xebel), Queen of Atlantis, and wife of DC Comics superhero Aquaman have recently surfaced, courtesy of James Wan's personal Twitter account

You can get your drool on by checking out the photo posted below:

Of course, stunning beauty like that doesn't always happen on its own. Sometimes, it takes a skilled makeup artist to make a person "camera-ready", and Amber Heard wasn't shy about sharing her own photo of the process via her Instagram account:

As we've already learned, AQUAMAN stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, DC's resident badass of the sea, able to wield aquatic life at his command through the use of his super-powered sonar abilities. Oh, but this ain't your daddy's Aquaman, no sir. Momoa's Curry guzzles down bottles of hard liquor like a frat boy on initiation night, carries a five-pronged trident, and surfs atop Batman's Batmobile like a rejected T&C Surf video game character. The film also stars Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Ludi Lin.

In AQUAMAN, Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world. No doubt this will include a tussle with long-time Aquaman foe, Black Manta, and perhaps a dastardly deed from Orm/Ocean Master as well.

While I'm certain that moviegoers will remain skeptical about AQUAMAN until hearing word that it's making a splash in theaters, I'm finding myself to be fairly excited for this one. Honestly, all I really need is Heard as Mera, and for Momoa to upper cut someone with a great white shark and I'll be good. Enough about me though, how do you feel? Are you excited for AQUAMAN, or do you wish that the very idea of this film would be lost in the Bermuda Triangle? Let us know in the comments section below.

AQUAMAN will doggy paddle and (hopefully) upper cut enemies with great white sharks beginning on December 21, 2018.
