Announcing Gore Verbinski’s Rango with a giant wind-up goldfish!

Paramount is announcing Gore Verbinski’s RANGO with this glimpse into the film and it’s truly off the wall.

There’s not a lot of info on this one. The provided plot is also pretty short, “The story of a chameleon with an identity crisis”. However, the teaser for it includes no chameleon. For some bizarre reason, it features a giant wind-up goldfish. Color me very f*cking amused.

Back in 2008, Verbinski said that they would be using cutting-edge animation techniques that, “will allow us to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny’s [Depp] performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen in an animated feature.”

The voice cast includes Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Ray Winstone, Beth Grant, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton, Alfred Molina, and Timothy Olyphant. John Logan (THE AVIATOR) penned the script. RANGO will be released in 2011.
