Armie Hammer says he still hasn't been contacted for Shazam or Green Lantern

The world seems to shine on Armie Hammer. Adoring fans, leading roles, and looks so deadly his face has to be registered as a weapon in most states (except Florida, obviously). On top of it all it seems he’s being sought for every superhero role in Hollywood, most notably Green Lantern and Shazam. People keep begging him to dish on the details, and according to Hammer there weren't many details to serve in the first place.

Talking at a CARS 3 press event Cinema Blend was able to speak with Hammer, and naturally the matter came up regarding the newest superhero casting he's been linked to - Shazam. Sad to say, much like Lantern, the reality is Hammer has yet to be contacted for that hero either:

Dude, so Dwayne said that thing and literally blew up my social media. I couldn't even open my Instagram. I thought my phone was gonna melt. But other than that no one's said anything. Yeah... I'm keeping my options open.

The fires were stoked around Hammer's possible casting as Shazam when Dwayne Johnson said he was his top choice to play the character against his own Black Adam. Johnson also said no conversations had occured with the actor, but the word was already out there, and now fans can’t decide which he’s better for – Green Lantern or Shazam.

Hammer was orginially cast as Batman back when DC was trying to get a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie made with George Miller years ago, but after that project fell through Hammer has yet to put on any sort of cape, ring or super suit. However, he's been linked with Green Lantern for some time, rumors he's come out and said weren't true several times, dishing on the story as to what went down to Screen Rant:

What an embarrassment of riches to have all of these choices. The funny thing is, is nobody has ever come to me an been like… My agent has never called and said, “Armie, Warner Bros, has been talking to me. There’s really interested in you. This whole thing.” Never. In fact, after… there was like a… When the Green Lantern stuff first kind of started, which I think is Geoff Johns fault, because he like followed me on Twitter or something, and everybody was like what does that mean?! So uh… how did it happen, Um, I called my agent, after it had been going on for like a week or two, it had been going on for a little bit, I called my agent, I was like, “Man, have you heard anything from like D.C. or anything?” And he was like, “No”. I was like, “nothing?” He was like, “No”. I was like, “Not one thing?”, and he was like, “No. Why?” I was like, “nothing about… Green Lantern?”, and he was like, “No, nothing”, and I was like, alright. That’s it, that’s the end of it.

Let’s just all accept the fact that Hammer would make an excellent superhero. Jaw structure aside, the actor has the poise, talent and charm to bring any comic book do-gooder to life with heroism and class. Frankly he’d be perfect for any of the roles he’s been rumored for, and if they haven’t yet DC should just go ahead and give him a ring now, because at this point they’d be passing up an already fan-approved casting choice. Lord knows hell hath no fury like fan boys scorned.

Hammer can be heard in CARS 3 this weekend, and the JUSTICE LEAGUE will assemble November 17. Will Hammer be a future member?
