Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders sequel announced with William Shatner

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Well, that was fast.

If anyone was excited to see the return of Adam West and Burt Ward in the animated movie BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS then get excited because news outta NYCC (via THR) is that the duo will return again for a sequel to the animated adventure.  For those of you who are still curious about the intro, then let me clarify that the news of the sequel comes before the actual release of the first movie, which isn’t until November 1. Like I said, that was fast.

But the best news isn’t that the movie will be getting a sequel, it’s that none other than Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, will take on the role of the dastardly villain, Two-Face. This news is…quite awesome…if I…may say so myself. That’s my Shatner impression. It works better with sound.

Anyway, there’s no news on when the sequel will come out, but depending on the success of the first one we may see it cranked-out right quick. I myself don’t remember the famous 60’s show, but I have vague flashes of watching it as a kid in the 90’s—mostly, though, I watched the Tim Burton movies and the animated series. That being said I will check out RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS just so I can hear what these two old legends sound like in their roles today. I expect a lot of hacking and coughing in-between lines.

BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS is set for Blu-ray on November 1, but you can get it early digitally on October 11.
