Batman v Superman hits home on July 19th plus extended edition trailer

Even before BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hit theater screens, we knew that there was an extended, R-rated version in the works. Warner Bros. isn't wasting any time and releasing this extended cut, featuring 30 minutes of new footage, right out of the gate.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray and a 2-disc DVD edition on July 19th. For what it's worth, the Ultra HD Blu-ray will ONLY have the Ultimate Edition in 4K (with the theatrical on normal Blu-ray). Also note the the 3D iteration will only feature the theatrical version in the third dimension, while the ultimate edition will be in glorious 2D. Aside from that, you can watch either the the theatrical or ultimate edition at your leisure if you pick up the Blu-ray (DVD is theatrical only). If you're not quite sold on sitting down to watch an even longer version of BvS, Warner Bros. has released a trailer showcasing some of the new footage you'll see in the ultimate edition. While I wouldn't be too quick to call this a 'KINGDOM OF HEAVEN scenario', it looks like there's a lot of interesting material in this new cut. Come next month, we'll know for sure if the ultimate edition actually redeems some of the problems with the film, or just adds to them.
