Ben Affleck signs on for political comedy Nathan Decker

About a year ago, Tom Cruise was circling to star in the political comedy, NATHAN DECKER from Dan Fogelman (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE). Cruise has decided to pass on the film most likely due to the four or so other projects he’s signed on to do.

Now Warner Brothers have asked Ben Affleck to take the leading role in the flick and he has accepted. The plot centers on, “a politician who is caught in an affair and returns to his hometown to confront his past.” The studio is also looking for a director on the project, but the actor will not be taking on that title.

Currently Affleck is in post-production with his film, ARGO. He is also attached to direct the adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND.
