Beware what's under the stairs in this poster for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

It feels like the wait for DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK has been forever.

First it was to be released in January, then August 12th, now August 26th. It's been awhile since we really got anything from the movie. We got a pretty creepy trailer back in August of 2010, but have had nothing since then to satisfy us.

Luckily, Fangoria found the poster in The New York Times over the weekend and gave it a scan for everyone else to see. Obviously ignore the whole August 12th thing. It's always great to see something like this, which is a refreshing break from the normal poorly photoshopped crap.

Check it out below.

"Sally Hurst (Bailee Madison), a lonely, withdrawn child, has just arrived in Rhode Island to live with her father Alex (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) at the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the sprawling estate, the young girl discovers a hidden basement, undisturbed since the strange disappearance of the mansion's builder a century ago. When Sally unwittingly lets loose a race of ancient, dark-dwelling creatures who conspire to drag her down into the mysterious house’s bottomless depths, she must convince Alex and Kim that it’s not a fantasy—before the evil lurking in the dark consumes them all."

Extra Tidbit: Need more Guy Pearce...
