The DC Universe is now set to bestow the powerful Black Adam upon us! We just received word that Dwayne Johnson's superhero movie will be striking movie theaters on July 29, 2022. The Rock himself actually took to the television airwaves to make the announcement in the midst of March Madness! Check it out up top and enjoy Mr. Johnson giving a little ribbing to Space Jam star, Charles Barkley!

As there is no official plot synopsis for Black Adam, we do know that it will serve as a prequel to Shazam! and is considered the eleventh installment in the DC Extended Universe. Also, here's a little quote from the black-suited anti-hero: "Five thousand years ago, Kahndaq, was a melting pot of cultures, wealth, power, and magic. Yet, most of us have nothing, except for the chains around our necks. Kahndaq needed a hero, instead, they got me. I did what needed to be done and they imprisoned me for it. Now, five thousand years later, I'm free and I give you my word… No one will ever stop me again."

In addition to Dwayne Johnson, the film will also feature Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, and Marwan Kenzari as the mysterious villain. Are you guys ready for Black Adam? Let us know in the comments below!
