Bradley Cooper is officially Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy

From rumor to reality, Bradley Cooper has officially been cast as Rocket Raccoon in Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. This marks the final character to be cast in the James Gunn directed superhero film assuming that Vin Diesel signs on the dotted line as Groot.

Reaction was mixed when rumors began circulating that Cooper would voice the raccoon character. Cooper does have that smart-ass delivery that will make Rocket come to life on the screen. I would have preferred to have Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler voice the character, but I am sure they were asking for a hell of a lot more money than the role warrants.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY has already started filming in England and features a diverse cast that includes Chris Pratt, Benicio del Toro, Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, and Karen Gillan. Pratt, who plays the lead role of Peter Quill recently made the statement that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is going to be one hell of a movie:

"It's the greatest movie of the 21st century! That's what I'll say. It'll be the CITIZEN KANE of movies other than CITIZEN KANE."

I am looking forward to seeing just how GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY turns out. Marvel's riskiest property also has one of the biggest casts outside of THE AVENGERS. Many of these actors are not as well known as Robert Downey Jr or Samuel L. Jackson, but I have a feeling that after August 1, 2014, they will be.
