Brahms is back as Katie Holmes is set to star in The Boy 2

Brahms is back as STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment are set to begin production on THE BOY 2 early next year with Katie Holmes (BATMAN BEGINS) set to star. If, like me, you need a refresher on the first film, let's get that out of the way right now. The 2016 horror flick starred Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) as Greta, a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village and discovers that the couple's 8-year-old son is actually a life-sized doll that the parents treat as a real child in an attempt to cope with the death of their actual son decades prior. Yeesh. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta's worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.

THE BOY didn't receive the best reviews upon release, but it was profitable and did set the stage for a sequel, so here we are. THE BOY 2 is set to revolve "around a young family, unaware of the terrifying history of the estate into which they move, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms." William Brent Bell will return to direct the film, with Stacey Menear also returning to pen the script. Principal photography is set to kick off in Victoria, British Columba on January 14, 2019. In a statement, Lakeshore Entertainment's Gary Lucchesi said:

Following the success of ‘The Boy,’ we are thrilled to be working on the next chapter of this chilling Brahms story with Stacey and William. We are also delighted to be continuing our relationship with STX, on this, our third partnership

Did you ever expect that Brahms would return for a sequel?
