Brett Ratner takes over to direct 39 Clues

What’s The Rat up to these days?

Apparently signing on to direct an adaptation of the first in the young adult series, 39 CLUES. Everytime I go to the library I see posters up for this damn book all the time. There’s aren’t “Goosebumps”, why should I care? Well, the kiddos love them, or I’m sorry, “young adults” as they like to be called.

The project has been sitting around since 2008 when Stacey Snider and Steven Spielberg set it up at DreamWorks, but the director was too busy with WAR HORSE and now is moving on to LINCOLN with Daniel Day-Lewis.

The adaptation has been written by Jeff Nathanson, who has teamed up with Ratner on the RUSH HOUR films as well as the recent TOWER HEIST. 39 CLUES focuses on, “the most powerful family in the world, the Cahills, and the books give clues as to the secret of the clan’s power.” The 11th installment of the series was just recently published.
