Brit Marling gets in deep with Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page in the second trailer for The East

The first trailer for Zal Batmanglij's THE EAST skimmed the surface, and now the second trailer gives us a deeper look into what we can expect.

As we've seen before, Alexander Skarsgård is the head of an anarchist group called THE EAST which is targeting major corporations for their wrong doings. This isn't just picketing-- it's full scale Project Mayhem stuff, except less hilarious. I also doubt their making and selling soap on the side. In this trailer we see that Marling is dropped in the center of the group to infiltrate them, but becomes involved with Skarsgard's character. Page sells herself as the number two of the group and comes off a far cry from someone of the roles she's played in the past.

This is definitely one to watch out for. Marling and Batmanglij are quickly becoming a lethal team in the cinematic world.

Synopsis: In THE EAST, Sarah Moss (Marling) is a brilliant operative for an elite private intelligence firm whose top objective is to ruthlessly protect the interests of their A-list corporate clientele. She is assigned to go undercover to infiltrate an anarchist collective known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations. Living amongst them in an effort to get closer to their members, Sarah finds herself unexpectedly torn between two worlds as she starts to fall in love with the group's charismatic leader, finding her life and her priorities irrevocably changed.

Extra Tidbit: In case you were wondering, the song in the trailer is "Letters from the Sky" by Civil Twilight.
