Captain Marvel has squad goals in new international poster

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In about one month we’ll finally be seeing Marvel Studio’s first female-led superhero movie, CAPTAIN MARVEL, starring Brie Larson as the title hero. While this is her show to lead her character, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, will have plenty of help both on this planet and others, and on the new international poster, she’s surrounded by her squad that includes, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Jude Law’s still unknown character.

Unlike the main domestic poster this one has tons of the movie’s characters, including Ben Mendelsohn’s villainous Skrull, Talos; Djimon Hounsou’s Korath; Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva and; Algenis Pérez Soto and Rune Temte as Att-Lass and Bron-Char, respectively. And, of course, we can’t forget Goose the cat, the real star of the show.

In terms of style, the poster has that classic "yellow/orange mixed with blue" look we’ve seen on other blockbuster movie posters (DAYS OF FUTURE PAST comes to mind), but there’s also a lot of green thrown in there to call to Danvers’ Starforce crew and add a new color scheme. This differs from the more vibrant red/blue main poster we’ve seen (teased at the top), but overall, l it’s a nice “ensemble” poster that has everyone united on the same page. I don’t know if I would’ve shown Marvel on the poster twice, but I guess it does mean to showcase the dual worlds she’s part of. Along with this international poster, the folks at Odeon also dropped a new poster, this one more minimalist and showing Marvel in her helmet, blasting off into the sky.

While that first trailer was pretty solid, I've really been getting more excited for the movie with the new trailers, each showing off more of Larson's Danvers and some of that superhero action. This is a big character they're unleashing here, and we should all get used to seeing more of her around.

Here’s the synopsis:

Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with questions about her past and identity when Earth is caught in the center of a galactic conflict between two alien worlds.

CAPTAIN MARVEL is in theaters March 8.
