How far are you willing to go for family? Could you hide a dark truth from the world for them, knowing full well that every night you'd be sleeping atop a bed of lies? These are questions that Chris Evans' DEFENDING JACOB character, Andy Barber, will soon be forced to answer for himself.

Apple TV+ has unveiled the first trailer for DEFENDING JACOB, an upcoming limited series presentation based on the 2012 novel of the same name by William Landry. The episodic drama series revolves around a shocking crime that rocks a small Massachusetts town, and follows an Assistant District Attorney who finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold justice, and his unconditional love for his son.

The eight-episode series, which hails from creator Mark Bomback, is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Morten Tyldum. Starring alongside Evans in the series are DOWNTON ABBEY alumna Michelle Dockery as Laurie Barber; Jaden Martell as Jacob Barber; Cherry Jones as Joanna Klein; Pablo Schreiber as Neal Logiudice; Sakina Jaffrey as Lynn Canavan; Betty Gabriel as Paula Duffy; and J.K. Simmons.

DEFENDING JACOB will make its Apple TV+ debut on April 24.
