Chris Hemsworth would love to do a Team Thor mockumentary series

Ever since his debut in his solo movie back in 2011, Thor has saved the day on numerous occasions, traveling between this world and others to square off against cosmic threats, and look stunning doing it. Out of all his heroics, one of his greatest achievements was rooming up with the very un-heroic Darryl for the hilarious short, TEAM THOR, and its sequel. Audiences fell in love with the God of Thunder and his causal living situation with this most normal of humans, and even Hemsworth is down to bring more of it to life in the form of a mockumentary-style TV series.

During this extensive promotional tour for the upcoming AVENGERS: ENDGAME, Hemsworth was speaking with MTV International (via ScreenRant) and given a series of random yet illuminating questions to answer. Among them were “Who is the most athletic Avenger?” (Tom Holland), “Who is most likely to win a Nobel Prize” (Mark Ruffalo), and “Who is the Life of the Party?” (Chris Pratt). In there was a question about doing more TEAM THOR, and Hemsworth says he would love to do more, taking his roomie Darryl on all sorts of adventures.

I’d love to do that. I’d love to see Darryl more. I’d love to do a mockumentary TV show of us living together and rooming together and our day to day adventures outside of saving the world, just sort of the regular stuff. I thought that was a lot of fun to shoot and also I think it’d be cool to have a TV show like that, yeah. Surfing, fishing, we go to a pub. It’d be good fun.

The very first TEAM THOR video (above) came out to tie into CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and was meant to playfully explain where Thor was during the conflict of that flick. Thor was simply busy living with his new roomie and was totally not upset that neither Tony Stark or Steve Rogers called to ask him to join their side. It was followed by a second, which came out near the home release of DOCTOR STRANGE, and a third featuring Darryl and Jeff Goldblum's The Grandmaster. All three were directed by Taika Waititi, who would showcase that brand of irreverent humor in THOR: RAGNAROK.

All three videos were neat little companion pieces for the Blu-ray releases they came with, and I'm with Hemsworth in thinking a series of more shorts or even a limited TV series could be a fun project to bring to life. Disney just announced a massive slate of TV shows and original programming they're working on for Disney+, so why not throw in a short series featuring Thor and Darryl? They could traverse the world together while ensuring Darryl gets back in time for work on Monday. There's the plot foundation, now give me my check, Marvel.

See Thor but probably not Darryl in AVENGERS: ENDGAME on April 26.
