Christian Bale says no to Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Christian Bale had been in talks to play the titular character of Darren Aranofsy’s biblical epic NOAH, but he’s turned down the deal. The reason is simple- he’s starring in tw Terrence Malick films and his schedule doesn’t allow it. Those two films are LAWLESS and KNIGHT OF CUPS, and they’re shooting back-to-back. Look at Malick, being all prolific finally!

Bale was Aronofsky’s first choice but now he’s targeting Michael Fassbender. There’s been no official offer just yet but it’s been told that they’ve discussed the part.

Aronofsky wrote the original script for NOAH with Ari Handel, which was subsequently rewritten by John Logan (GLADIATOR). Aronofsky is producing with Scott Franklin BLACK SWAN.
