Christina Chong lands the lead in the Ridley Scott produced Halo: Nightfall

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The Halo: Nightfall project has cast its female lead for Sergio Mimica-Gezzan's (Heroes, Under the Dome) digital series produced by Ridley Scott. Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) will play an unknown role in the upcoming series that is separate from the upcoming Steven Spielberg produced series. The project is part of Microsoft's Master Chief Collection, which is an anniversary edition of previous Halo games. The collection and web-series are set to be released for Xbox One in November of this year.

The live-action weekly series is said to center on the life of Master Chief. The plot is the origin story of Agent Locke, who also appears in Halo 5: Guardians. Locke "is troubled by aspects of the military industrial complex he inhabits" and "inspires loyalty in his fellow Spartans." According to reports it will tie together the first four Halo games and also lay the narrative groundwork for Halo 5.

While I haven’t played a Halo game since Halo 2 (it was too damn easy), I’m still pretty excited for both projects. Halo: Nightfall is definitely swaying people to the digital viewing pleasures of Xbox One; while Spielberg’s version looks like it will end up on Showtime. I heard they have the Internet on computers now, so I’ll be catching it all there.

Which HALO series are you more excited about? Are you keeping up with the games?
