Christopher McQuarrie to direct Colin Firth in Three to Kill

The fourth film for director Christopher McQuarrie will be an adaptation of Jean-Patrick Manchette’s THREE TO KILL. Andrew Lauren Productions will finance the film with McQuarrie to helm and Colin Firth to star.

The thriller set on the coast of France follows “a disillusioned businessman witnesses a murder and finds himself being hunted by two relentless sociopaths.”

The material was previously adapted into a graphic novel by Jacques Tardi, and was nominated for two Eisner Awards in 2010. One of Manchette’s other works, “The Prone Gunman” has been turned into a separate film titled THE GUNMAN from director Pierre Morel starring Idris Elba, Javier Bardem, and Sean Penn which is set to hit theaters in 2014.

Howard Rodman is set to write the script. McQuarrie’s most recent directorial effort was 2012’s JACK REACHER with Tom Cruise.
