Clark Gregg, Lee Pace, & more join Captain Marvel cast as production begins!

If you happen to be in the greater Los Angeles area, you might just catch a glimpse of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, now that production on CAPTAIN MARVEL has officially begun!

When the film soars into theaters beginning on March 8, 2019, Marvel will share a story that follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, CAPTAIN MARVEL is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Larson, who's publicly stated that she was once nervous about stepping into the superhero role, has recently been seen learning from real-life military professionals while training for the role. In fact, as a part of the most recent update from Marvel, the studio tweeted a photo of Larson receiving instructions from General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander, while visitng Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

You can see the post for yourself below:

Directing CAPTAIN MARVEL are Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who will also serve as writers on the project alongside Meg LeFauve,  Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch. In addition to Larson starring as Marvel's high-flying hero, Samuel L. Jackson will co-star as his long-time Marvel mainstay, Nick Fury. Joining the aforementioned actors for Marvel's first female-led solo venture will be Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

That's right, it looks as if Pace's Ronan and Hounsou's Korath of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY fame will be popping by to cause Carol some intergalactic trouble. Additionally, it's been announced that Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson will be getting in on the action as well!

It's also worth noting that, after production wraps in Los Angeles, the film will then set up camp in the following locations: Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
