Cloverfield or Slusho?

It seems like 'CLOVERFIELD' news is literally pouring in now. The Hollywood Reporter, via Slashfilm has given us a nice little piece about casting news on the flick:

The casting process was just as mysterious. No scripts or even scene pages were sent out; agents who were contacted were simply asked if their client wanted to be in the movie or not. Eventually a cast, made up mostly of relative unknowns, was put together; it includes Michael Stahl-David (”The Black Donnellys”), Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel (”Supercross”) and Lizzy Kaplan (”The Class”).

It's also being reported that the film is being shot for less than $30 million, which is extremely cheap when compared to most films being shot nowadays. Especially when this thing is supposed to be some massive monster movie. There's also talk about the film being shot entirely from the perspective of a handheld camera. It's a cool idea, but I'm not convinced it would work for an entire film. Still, no one is confirming anything at this point.

In other news, IGN has speculated that the film may be using the working title 'SLUSHO', the name of the slurpee-esque beverage that is offered to Jennifer Garner's character in the second episode of ALIAS. Personally, I don't care about the title, I'm already sold on this thing, by the super covert advertising campaign. Stay tuned for more info as it breaks!
