Concept art for The Amazing Spider-man 2 shows alternate Rhino armor

Everyone was excited when Paul Giamatti was signed to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 in the role of Rhino, but then we saw the costume and most let our a sigh of disappointment. It wasn’t the Rhino we were expecting, at all. But, like any film journey, Rhino didn’t always look the way he does in the final product.

Screen Crush revealed some Rhino concept art from THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 and an alternate costume that may have pleased a lot more fans than the final edition. Drawn by Jared Krichevsky, it is unknown how early or late in the pre-production process these costumes were pitched, but they definitely fall more in line with the comic book visuals of Rhino rather than the human tank we got in the film.

There is definitely a chance that the Rhino hardware could be refined for THE SINISTER SIX or future sequels to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, but for now we got what we got. Do you prefer the concept or the finished product?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is now playing.
