Cool Videos: 135 shots that will restore your faith in cinema

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I went on a couple of tirades this week against both the blind rage of fanboys as well as young people who don’t care about old movies. I feel the need to clarify. I am not a film snob. I am a movie lover. I can remember distinctly going to see a double feature on my thirteenth birthday of ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE followed by SCHINDLER’S LIST. I love going to the theater and seeing a movie, no matter what it is (except for TWILIGHT or Sylvester Stallone’s DRIVEN, those suck). But, I will usually take a beautifully made masterpiece over a bloated popcorn flick.

FlavorWire asked the question “what are the most beautiful movies ever made?” and compiled a list of 86 candidates. They then combined 135 shots from those movies into this eight minute visual extravaganza. I beg you to watch the entire clip and see how many of these films that you can name. If you don’t recognize some, check them out and broaden your cinematic horizons.

Head on over to the original FlavorWire article for the full list of films in this supercut.
