Cool Videos: Before Bryan Cranston was Breaking Bad – A Career Retrospective

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It’s hard to imagine movie stars before they were movie stars, expecially after they’re movie stars (you get all that?). Such is the case with Bryan Cranston, who just wrapped up his turn as Walter White/Heisenberg on AMC’s Breaking Bad, solidifying his likeness, mannerisms, and actions in the halls of pop culture forever. Cranston delivered one of the most ferociously intense, emotional, and marvelous performances ever filmed. At this point, Cranston has reached a status that you couldn’t consider him anything less than a phenomenal actor. But, was it always that way?

We’ve heard of Cranston’s commercial work, which isn’t all that surprising for up-and-coming actors, but apparently Cranston has been “in the trenches” for a lot longer than you may think, reaching all the way back to shows like Airwolf, Baywach, The Flash, Matlock, Murder: She Wrote, Babylon 5, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, The X-Files, Chicago Hope, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The King of Queens, and 30 Rock. That’s a hell of a lot of small appearances that led to the one that became his career maker. It’s really cool to see just how long Cranston’s been at it, which makes it even more awesome when you consider what he just pulled off with Breaking Bad.

Say my name:

Cranston will next be seen in GODZILLA on May 16, 2014 (and my fingers are still crossed for Lex Luthor!)
