Cool Videos: The ending to Star Wars is awkward without the music

When you think about STAR WARS, you likely immediately recall some key things about the series: lightsabers, the force, the Death Star, some quoted lines, and the music. John Williams' score for the entire STAR WARS saga is an indelible and important part of film history. You cannot go to a Fourth of July fireworks show without hearing it. Hell, even sporting events around the world use cues from the score for various reasons during games. But, what would STAR WARS have been like without any music at all?

The Auralnauts took a key scene from A NEW HOPE and removed all musical accompaniment to see what the results would be. Now, the closing Throne Room scene from the first STAR WARS is presented without any fanfare or celebratory orchestration. The results are very awkward. Check out the video below and be thankful that John Williams will be back for EPISODE VII.
