Cool Videos: Tom Holland slays Rihanna’s “Umbrella” on MTV’s Lip Sync Battle

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can – and apparently that includes bringing down the house of a special presentation of MTV's Lip Sync Battle! For real though, wow! Straight up, no bones, wow! My hat is officially off, high in the air, and traveling on the wind to Tom Holland for giving such a spirited and commanding performance set to a musical mash-up that included elements of Gene Kelly's "Singin' in the Rain" and Rihanna's 2007 hit "Umbrella."

Holland's spectacular display of agility, poise, and cross-dressing confidence happened just moments before this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards, where the SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING star battled against his gorgeous and equally-talented co-star Zendaya. Holland's performance started off as a classy send up to Gene Kelly's iconic routine, but then quickly took a turn for the risque and righteous as Marvel's next web-slinger shed his trench to reveal a saucy and strappy body suit. The twenty-year-old actor then started hot-stepping his way across the stage, and even incorporated a few signature Spider-Man moves into his routine! Spectacular!

You can check out Holland's spectacular performance right here:

Before this performance, my favorite Lip Sync Battle featured Emma Stone when she handed Jimmy Fallon his ass on The Tonight Show. However, I think that I'm going to have to re-order my list, as Holland's performance just blew my mind to places it's never been before.

You can check out more of Tom Holland's sweet moves when SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING web-swings its way into theaters on July 7, 2017.
