The retelling of the Brothers Grimm’s RED RIDING HOOD has been in development for awhile now with Catherine Hardwicke (TWILIGHT) set to direct, with a script by David Johnson (ORPHAN), and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way producing.
Look’s like everything is set, except for one thing, who will don the crimson hood? The beautiful blonde with the big eyes, Amanda Seyfried is the girl that they are wanting for the part.
GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD is an update of the original tale with dark, dangerous, and romantic elements that they hope will appeal to the TWILIGHT fanbase, as well as those who just like a good fairytale. Don’t be horrified just yet, the script is actually getting high marks within Hollywood. If that doesn’t convince you, this statement won’t either, apparently the story is a werewolf movie with a teenage love triangle. I can tell you the Twi-fans will drool at the idea of another love triangle involving a werewolf.
Will this be the new TWILIGHT? I’m going to go ahead and say no, as the world of Bella, Jacob, and Edward is a hard one to dominate and destroy.
