Dark Shadows for 2010

The cursed Collins family is still on their way.

According to Sci-Fi Wire, Graham King, producer for Tim Burton's DARK SHADOWS says that the film will shoot in the fall, "We're actually going to shoot that film next September/October with Tim Burton and Johnny." Depp will be playing none other than Barnabas Collins.

Burton is currently finishing post-production on ALICE IN WONDERLAND, which is due out March 5, 2010. "We've been working on the script a lot, even though he's working on Alice," says King who is prepping production on SHADOWS with screenwriters so it's good to go in the fall. King continued, "We've been given a script. John August wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production, as I say, September or October of next year."

Although the fans of Burton seem to be pretty split here on JoBlo, I am all for giving the director a chance to see his vision of the supernatural happenings of the Collins' estate. There are so many different vampire films and television series coming out of the woodwork, mostly because of the TWILIGHT phenomenon. King says that the new SHADOWS will have something to say, but wouldn't give up any details, "This is going to be Tim Burton and Johnny doing a vampire movie, right?" King teased. Yeah, and they better not screw it up. I love Helena Bonham Carter, but if you put her in the film let her play Dr. Julia Hoffman.

Extra Tidbit: Has anyone else here seen the DARK SHADOWS revival that was on in the 90's with Ben Cross as Barnabas Collins?
