David Gordon Green in talks to direct an adaptation of Little House on the Prairie

What the hey?!

Nothing says big screen adaptation of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE like David Gordon Green. Sony Pictures are trying to get this project off the ground, and hope that Green will direct with Abbi Morgan (SHAME, THE IRON LADY) writing the script.

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE started as a series of children’s books that were published between 1932-1943 by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The focus of the story was semi-autobiographical about a family on a farm in the 19th Century American West. Most of you may remember the television show that was on the air from 1974 to 1983 that starred Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert as Laura. I only saw it because when I was little we lived in the middle of nowhere, and only got two channels. The only thing on during the day was LITTLE HOUSE and static.

The only thing I remember is that Gilbert played an annoying little kid, Landon died too soon, and the oldest sister went blind.

Anyone psyched for a funny version of LITTLE HOUSE? I’m making assumptions. Will Danny McBride play Charles Ingalls?
