David O. Russell’s next film starring Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, and Bradley Cooper sets a release date

The formerly titled AMERICAN BULLSHIT (now currently untitled) from director David O. Russell and starring Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Louis C.K., and Amy Adams is on the fast track with a release date now set for the feature film.  The Untitled Film will debut on December 13, 2013 in limited release, going wide on Christmas Day.

Russell has been on a hot streak of late, with his last two films, THE FIGHTER and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, both garnering Oscar wins and box office clout.  The filmmaker seemed to be on a downward spiral with his infamous blowouts on set, most notably with Lili Tomlin on I HEART HUCKABEES and with George Clooney on THREE KINGS.  However, it seems Russell has calmed down and gotten down to business as a filmmaker and started to become an actor’s director, as he’ll be reteaming with two of his prior Oscar winners from THE FIGHTER and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence, not to mention the Oscar-nominated Bradley Cooper.  Additional castmembers include Jeremy Renner, Louis C.K., and Amy Adams, which makes for a hell of a great cast.

Here’s the synopsis:

The film tells the story of an FBI operation called Abscam that investigated Capitol Hill lawmakers and their possible role in illegal money exchanges in the late ’70s and early ’80s

This has now shot onto my must-see list for 2013, regardless of what it’s eventually called.  With a cast like this and Russell in top form, this will likely be another knock out of the park.

The UNTITLED FILM will hit theaters on December 25, 2013 (with limited engagements starting December 13, 2013).
