Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Blumhouse Productions has unveiled a trailer for FANTASY ISLAND, a horror-tinged reboot of the 1970s TV show starring Ricardo Montalban and Hervé Villechaize.

In the upcoming reboot, a group of strangers find themselves transported to a mysterious island where anything seems possible. However, as each of their fantasies are brought to life, a terrible toll must be paid in return. Before long, each of the guests finds themselves trapped on an isle of ill-fated scenarios, with little choice but to fight for their lives against the nightmares they'd helped create.

Here is the official synopsis for FANTASY ISLAND:

The enigmatic Mr. Roarke makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.

Directed and co-written by Jeff Wadlow (KICK-ASS 2, CRY WOLF) with writers Jillian Jacobs and Christopher Roach, FANTASY ISLAND stars Michael Pena (ANT-MAN) as Mr. Roarke, with Maggie Q (LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD), Portia Doubleday (YOUTH IN REVOLT), Kim Coates (SONS OF ANARCHY), Lucy Hale (PRETTY LITTLE LIARS), Jimmy O. Yang (CRAZY RICH ASIANS), Austin Stowell (WHIPLASH), Ryan Hansen (FRIDAY THE 13TH) also set to star.

Wow! The concept for this film sure is cruel, isn't it? Imagine being afforded the opportunity to make your deepest desire a reality, only to then have it twisted into something terrifying and life-threatening. That would be like me being given the opportunity to watch Tool live in concert from the waters of the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, only to have the volcanic spa turn boiling hot halfway through the band's performance.

What would your fatasy be? Let us know in the comments section below.

FANTASY ISLAND is set to make all your nightmares come true in theaters on February 14, 2020.
