Wall Street (SE) September 18

You know what’s good? Greed. You know what else is good? Buffalo chicken wings and beer. What’s better is a double disc special edition of Oliver Stone’s classic 80s money grubbing flick. If you really pay attention to the subtilties of WALL STREET, you can see how great AMERICAN PSYCHO could’ve been when ol’ Ollie Stone was originally attached to the flick.

Disc 1: Main Feature

  • Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
  • English DD4.0 and DD5.1 Surround
  • French and Spanish Mono
  • English and Spanish subtitles
  • Commentary by Director Oliver Stone

Disc 2: Extra Features

  • “Money Never Sleeps: The Making of Wall Street” Featurette

Michael Douglas has been told the times are a’changing, as evidenced by his big brick phone.

Deliverance (CE) September 18

You know how you’re at the bar with all your buddies, drinking and have a gay ol’ time, and it’s at that point where you guys are tanked where someone says something “brilliant” or says, “let’s plan a trip.” Well, this is what happens when a bunch of guys “plan a trip.” You end up getting a friend or two killed and one of them gets treated like an altar boy who accidentally dropped the communion. By the way, the actor who made Ned Beatty squeal like a pig, has a website called Squeallikeapig.com. No bullshit.

Includes:

  • Commentary by director John Boorman
  • Deliverance: The Beginning – Take a historical look at the novel and its adaptation to the screen.
  • Deliverance: The Journey – From the early stages of filming to the creation of classic moments, such as

    the Dueling Banjos scene.

  • Deliverance: Betraying the River – The making of one of the most controversial and ground-breaking

    sequences in film history.

  • Deliverance: Delivered – A reflective look back on the completion of the film, its impact and how the idea

for the shocking ending came to be.

  • The Dangerous World of Deliverance – The original behind-the-scenes documentary on the difficult

conditions and challenges of making this film

  • Theatrical Trailer

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (SE) August 7

Kung Fu Hustle (SE) August 7

Now, this I saw for the first time the other day and holy shit did I have a blast. I’m glad this “Axe Kicking Edition” is being released with some more extras because I couldn’t get enough of it, and I usually tend to stay away from marital arts movies. Sorry, martial arts movies.

Perfect Stranger August 21

Yeck. I think it’s time for Halle Berry to give us another Academy Award winning “getting banged” session before casting agents completely lose faith in her. The only thing grosser than an old hag Halle Berry getting it on is the cover for this. Oh and the only extra, which is Virtual Lives: The Making of Perfect Stranger. Hip hop hooray, hoooo, hey….
