Dwayne Johnson playfully introduces new “bad ass” Rampage trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I don't know about you, but I would never want to get in the way of Dwayne Johnson, particularly if he's on a mission to save the world from absolute destruction. I mean, he seems like a hell of a nice guy when interacting with fans, though the moment he's packing some major artillery in those massive arms of his, I'm out!

This afternoon, it looks as if Johnson paused in the middle of a workout to introduce the world to a new trailer for Brad Peyton's RAMPAGE. In the clip, which was posted to Johnson's personal Twitter page, the professional wrestler-turned-action superstar promises audiences that the new footage is bad ass, and by that, he's talkin' bout "bad aaaazzzz." Here's the thing though, Johnson doesn't exactly come off as a fearless behemoth in the trailer. In fact, he spends most of his time running from the danger, so … um, what gives? I think the trailer editors are playing a little joke on your boy, though you might want to check tomorrow's obituaries to find out if they live to tell tale of their little gag.

You can watch the clip and trailer below:

In the movie, Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.  But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size.  To make matters worse, it¹s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals.  As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

RAMPAGE starring Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (SUPERNATURAL, THE WALKING DEAD), Malin Akerman (WATCHMEN), Will Yun Lee (SAN ANDREAS), Joe Mangniello (TRUE BLOOD, ARROW), and Naomie Harris (MOONLIGHT) will stomp into theaters beginning on April 13th.
