Elle Fanning is in talks to play opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent

Angelina Jolie has finally been locked down for the title role in MALEFICENT and the film is now on the roll.

Isn’t there another major character that we’re missing here? You probably guessed correctly. Yes, Princess Aurora. Well, it just so happens that someone is in talks for that role right now. That little lady is SUPER 8’s Elle Fanning.

Robert Stromberg was recently chosen to helm the project and this will be his directorial debut. He won an Oscar for art direction on AVATAR and ALICE IN WONDERLAND. So he’ll probably make sure everything looks nice and shiny.

Most of you know the story of SLEEPING BEAUTY. the fierce sorceress Maleficent curses Princess Aurora to die on her 16th birthday. The princess sort of finds good fortune when a fairy counters the spell by putting her in a deep sleep. The only way to break the spell is for the Prince to kiss her. Obviously, Maleficent will be the main focus of the film, but we don’t have any concrete details on how this will differ from the original tale.
