Emmys 2018: Game of Thrones, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel win top prizes

The biggest night of the year for TV was held last night as the Emmys awarded golden trophies to the best of the best in the medium. As always, premium cable juggernaut HBO took home several trophies, with GAME OF THRONES being awarded big prizes like Outstanding Drama series and Peter Dinklage taking home Best Supporting Actor (drama). Then some gold went to the breakout hit BARRY, with both Bill Hader and Henry Winkler taking home awards, the latter earning his first over the course of a storied TV career.

But one of the big takeaways was the success of streaming services like Amazon and Netflix. The former was able to dominate the night with their incredible show THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, which won awards for writing, directing, acting (Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein) and Outstanding Comedy Series. Netflix meanwhile picked up some awards for shows like GODLESS, THE CROWN and the BLACK MIRROR short USS CALLISTER.
