We are less than a month away from Ridley Scott’s EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS and while I’m still on the fence with it, the enormous looking epic is certainly doing a great job at swaying me to check it out. This latest featurette takes a look at the vast world we will be entering and the journey that Moses (Christian Bale) embarks on to lead the Israelite slaves out of Egypt. I’m particularly interested in seeing these water scenes we have seen glimpses of play out on the big screen because they look stunning.

Watch the video below and hear from Scott, Bale and Joel Edgerton on their characters motivations and the epic scope of the film:

Hearing Scott say that “there’s magic in science fiction” and that it’s believed to be real is a great way of saying that it really doesn’t matter what your thoughts are when it comes to this story bearing any sort of truth or not. The magic of the movies is that any of us can watch a Biblically inspired film like this and be entertained; it’s that simple. Lastly, I will be interested to see how this one stacks up against Ridley Scott’s previous epics like GLADIATOR (2000), KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (2005), and ROBIN HOOD (2010) which curiously arrive almost every five years; only time will tell!

EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS hits theaters on December 12, 2014.
