Exclusive: Jonathan Rhys Meyers is on the hunt for the 12th Man in new clip

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Nazis suck. There, someone finally said it. They are some of the worst villains the world has ever seen, and they’ve been portrayed as such in the movies for years. In this exclusive clip for the new movie THE 12TH MAN, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a Nazi officer on the hunt for an escaped resistance fighter, and his even nastier fellow soldiers are growing impatient. The clip showcases the visceral filmmaking of this WWII drama, as well as Meyers’ spot-on German accent.

Norway, 1943: after a failed anti-Nazi sabotage mission leaves his eleven comrades dead, Norwegian resistance fighter Jan Baalsrud (Thomas Gullestad) finds himself on the run from the Gestapo through the snowbound Arctic reaches of Scandinavia. It's a harrowing journey across unforgiving, frozen wilderness that will stretch on for months and force Jan to take extreme action in order to survive.

The movie looks like a fine entry in the WWII genre and seems like a solid view for any history buffs out there. The movie debuts in theaters and on VOD tomorrow, and so far there have been some positive reviews for the movie, some saying it adds a few surprises to the genre and is filled with great performances.

THE 12TH MAN is in theaters and on digital May 4.
