Some of my favorite types of movies: Movies that are based in the suburbs (EDWARD SCISSORHANDS). Movies that feature creepy conspiracies (HOT FUZZ). Movies about creepy conspiracies that are based in the suburbs (NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH!!). Will Ferrell is in talks to star in the new film as an urbanite who moves to the suburbs, joins the neighbourhood watch, and discovers a large conspiracy within the community. I literally am drooling all over my pasty white thighs as I write this. David Dobkin (WEDDING CRASHERS) is set to direct the Jared Stern screenplay for 20th Century Fox. Even if this isn’t quite your scene you must admit that it will be nice to see Ferrell playing an avergae dude in a world grounded in reality, as opposed to a guy running around with dinosaurs or a dude dressed in a giant elf outfit. I’m just saying.
