First Avengers 4 trailer assembles the remaining heroes for an epic finale

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Rejoice, citizens of the world! Quell the riots, put the rumors to bed, dim the torches and blunt the pitchforks, because the very first trailer for AVENGERS 4 … which we now know is called AVENGERS: ENDGAME after all,  is finally upon us! The events of this year’s AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR left things on a bleak, death-filled note that set the stage for what would have to be one of the most epic events ever to take place on the big screen. While there are certainly far fewer heroes on the screen that the last time around, this first trailer teases nothing less than a magnificent blockbuster event that will surely leave people in awe, jaws fully dropped.

As I said above, this movie has the difficult task of living to the standards set by INFINITY WAR, a massive epic that capitalized on 10 years of blockbuster universe building. This trailer is all about the surviving Avengers coming together, featuring Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and more must rally together to find a way to fix the chaos Thanos has wrought. They have fewer team members, but with the help of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson, who we don't see here), that should even the odds a tiny bit.

While we may not know all the juicy details, and although the trailer didn’t do too much to help that, we still have a few little nuggets of info here and there. For one, the Russos recently revealed the current cut of the movie is about three hours long, making it by far the longest Marvel movie ever. Of course, that is subject to change as they realize three hours may be the threshold that makes audiences think, “Wait, are these movies a little long?”

The trailer is very brief and focuses more on the aftermath, but that's all we need. This trailer proves you don't need action and chaos to give a movie scope, but only dire situations that seem impossible to overcome. I am so ready for this movie, and you know you are too.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is in theaters April 26, 2019.
