First look at Brad Pitt in Cogan’s Trade

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I think I’ve only written one of two articles on COGAN’S TRADE. Both of them I believe had something to do with casting. Now all of a sudden there’s a first still from the film and word that it’s already wrapped. What the f*ck?! Time blew by pretty fast, or it least it feels that way.

In COGAN’S TRADE, Brad Pitt stars as Jackie Cogan,“the professional enforcer hired to investigate the robbery of a mob-protected poker game perpetrated by two junkies played by Scoot McNairy (”Monsters”) and Ben Mendelsohn (”Animal Kingdom”). Also co-starring are Ray Liotta as the hustler running the game, Richard Jenkins as a lawyer with inside info, James Gandolfini as a washed-up alcoholic hit man, Vincent Curatola as a middle-aged ex-con seeking revenge, plus Bella Heathcote and Sam Shepherd in unknown roles.” Andrew Dominik (THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD) was in helmer on this one.

Pitt looks like a hard ass in the still. I would definitely not mess with him, well, I wouldn’t mess with Ray Liotta or James Gandolfini either. If you do, it’s a good way to find yourself at the bottom of a river or in the trunk of a car.
