First look at Elle Fanning in Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon

Filming for Nicolas Winding Refn's THE NEON DEMON will wrap up in the very near future, and Screen Daily has the first official images from the Countess Bathory-inspired horror flick, featuring MALEFICENT and SUPER 8 actress Elle Fanning. The film also stars Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Bella Heathcote, Karl Gusman and Desmond Harrington. Fanning's character has been described as "an aspiring model who moves to Los Angeles, where her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has."

Nicolas Winding Refn co-wrote THE NEON DEMON script with his wife Liv Corfixen, who earlier this year she said Refn has been thinking about doing a horror film for a long time.

He has always wanted to do a horror movie. That was the same with Valhalla Rising (2009), a Viking movie. He has the idea about 10 years before he makes it, so I think it’s an idea he has had for many, many years. To do a film like that he thinks, ‘I need to do a Viking movie, or a horror movie, or this and that movie.’ He has to get it out of his system to move on to do another movie.

THE NEON DEMON doesn't have a release date yet, but is expected to open in 2016.
