First Look at Sony Pictures Animation’s new short Puppy!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

While animation fans are divided in regard to how they feel about Son'y upcoming THE EMJOI MOVIE, we've just learned of some news that could make you slightly less trepidatious about purchasing a ticket for you and your little ones. As it happens, Sony Pictures Animation is debuting a brand-new HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA short film entitled PUPPY! to be attached to THE EMJOI MOVIE.

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (SAMURAI JACK, DEXTER'S LABORATORY, STAR WARS: CLONE WARS) and produced by Michelle Murdocca (HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2), PUPPY! tells the story of what happens when the residents of Hotel Transylvania find their world turned upside-down when youngster Dennis (or Denisovich if you're savy) gets a surprise monster-sized pet! Oh man, the skeleton crew is not going to like having to clean up after this monstrous pup, I'll tell you that!

Here's a look at the full poster for PUPPY!:

As a big fan of the HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA franchise (yes, and I'm not ashamed to admit it), I'm excited to see what PUPPY! is all about. Now, I can't say that I'll be catching it in theaters. However, I have no doubt that I'll be catching THE EMOJI MOVIE once it hits digital and Blu-Ray formats, be it out of morbid curiosity or some manner of babysitting hostage scenario. Either way, I'm up for viewing any and all things related to HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, so bring it on!

PUPPY! will debut at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival next month and in theaters worldwide when it's attached to THE EMOJI MOVIE which opens in theaters worldwide on July 28, 2017.
