Zach Galifianakis is the missing link in first trailer for Laika’s new movie

Next year audiences will be treated to another movie from Laika Entertainment, the acclaimed animation studio behind such marvels as PARANORMAN and KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS. The new stop-motion animated movie, MISSING LINK, now has its first trailer, which showcases the movie’s exploration of the world of myths and legends through a road-comedy lens as Hugh Jackman’s Sir Lionel Frost as Zoe Saldana’s Adelina Fortnight go out in search of the big, hairy, and surprisingly goofy Missing Link, voiced by Zach Galifianakis. Laika has been doing wonders in the world of stop-motion animation for years, with 2016’s KUBO being a tremendous high point. Directed by Chris Butler and produced by Travis Knight and Arianne Sutner, MISSING LINK looks to be more of a straight comedy than past outings, sporting a vibrant color scheme and more playful premise. That voice trio is nothing to scoff at, and they’ll be accompanied by the voices of Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Timothy Olyphant and Matt Lucas.

Here is a plot synopsis:

The charismatic Sir Lionel Frost considers himself to be the world's foremost investigator of myths and monsters. Trouble is, none of his small-minded, high-society peers seems to recognize this. Hoping to finally gain acceptance from these fellow adventurers, Sir Lionel travels to the Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of a legendary creature known as the missing link.
