Three new banners for The Host starring Saoirse Ronan and Diane Kruger invade the web

We haven’t exactly been coy about our distaste for Stephenie Meyer’s TWILIGHT saga around these parts, but now that the painful vampire/werewolf love triangle is over, we’re ready to welcome the next go round from the author with open arms.  Right?  Driving on the same love triangle themes as her previous work, Meyer’s THE HOST does have a few things going for it, namely in its director, Andrew Niccol, and the lovely stars of the film, Saiorse Ronan and Diane Kruger.  The sci-fi element certainly doesn’t hurt, but the biggest concern is whether we’ll be getting something fresh and cool or something like IN TIME meets TWILIGHT, only with aliens instead of mythological creatures.

That said, today Yahoo! premiered these three new banners (four, if you count the “collected” version) that highlights the themes of love, belief, and, uh, fighting.  Y’know, all those keywords that are supposed to pull you in and make a connection with your personal feelings and what not.

Did it work?:

I’m naturally skeptical of THE HOST, but I do like the second trailer they released, largely for the Imagine Dragons song that plays underneath to enhance it.  We’ll see how it all plays out come March 29, 2013.
