Fox confirms Prometheus 2 coming in either 2014 or 2015!

Looks like we may get to find out if Shaw and David make it to Paradise after all.

Fox president of production Emma Watts confirmed that the sequel to Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS will be released in either 2014 or 2015. This comes after the film grossed $300 million worldwide, which is not a huge number but still very good.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Ridley Scott is actively working on the sequel. Both stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are contracted for a second film. Screenwriter Damon Lindelof may not return due to other projects so Scott and Fox and considering other writers.

Watts states "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it."

This is awesome news. While PROMETHEUS was not the absolute cinematic perfection I built it up to be in my head, it was still a great movie. I loved every second of it and I hope the sequel explores the themes of the movie without spending any time on the ALIEN creatures themselves.

Even if it means waiting until 2015, that is well worth it to see Ridley Scott return to this story again.

Extra Tidbit: The THR article also states TED 2, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN 2, and AMERICAN PIE 5 are on their way.
