Get your ass kicked by the first five minutes of Haywire!

Steven Soderbergh’s HAYWIRE has been building a lot of steam lately, thanks to some very promising looking trailers and clips, not to mention what looks to be a star-making performance by MMA fighter Gina Carano.

Now, the studio has released the first five minutes of the film for your viewing pleasure. Check it out below.

I don’t know about you, but I’m sold. I was on the fence about this in terms of seeing it in the theater, but Netflix ain’t gonna cut it on this one. All it took was five minutes to convince me to endure people texting, talking, showing up late, and coughing in my popcorn at the theater.

I’m there. The talent involved in Haywire is absolutely perplexing. In all reality it feels like it should be a straight-to-DVD cheeseball action flick, due to utilizing an MMA fighter in the lead role, but then you throw in names like Soderbergh, Michael Douglas, Antonio Bandaras, Bill Paxton, Ewan McGregor, and Michael Fassbender it starts your head spinning. What the f*ck is going on here? How did all of this awesomeness happen at once??

It doesn’t hurt that Carano is smokin’ hot and comes across as a pretty decent actress to boot. Also, she can choke slam you. Anytime.

HAYWIRE opens nationwide on January 20th, 2012. See you there! But, seriously, don’t sit right next to me. My jacket has to have somewhere to sit.
