Go and see Once

I have to admit that I have never even heard of the movie ONCE, but directorial powerhouse, Steven Spielberg commented to USA Today recently that:

"A little movie called Once gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year."

This is a real sweet story, I've been flitting through the IMDb.com comments and reviews and pretty much everything that has been said about the movie has been complimentary. Here is a quick description of the flick: A modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. To be honest, I had always thought myself the kind of person who would laugh at musicals, but my ex-girlfriend got me to watch the first half of GREASE and I couldn't stop. I also ended up watching RENT and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL over that same summer and I have to believe that if Spielberg loves ONCE, then it has to be at least equal to HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. Sure, it might not have that awesome part at the start where Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens fall in love for no apparent reason other than that they are singing to each other, but it's Irish and Spielberg likes it. Give it a chance, ey?
Extra Tidbit: Director John Carney was once a member of the band 'The Frames', for whom lead actor Glen Hansard is the frontman.
