Up for a seven-and-a-half hour version of THE GODFATHER you can watch in the comfort of your own home? HBO is more than happy to oblige, lining up THE GODFATHER EPIC as a part of its programming this month on HBO, HBO GO, HBO NOW and HBO On-Demand.
What is THE GODFATHER EPIC, you may ask – which is perfectly fine, since a number of people don’t quite know? It’s both THE GODFATHER and THE GODFATHER PART II edited together chronologically with additional footage that was left out of both films’ theatrical cuts.
Prior to this, THE GODFATHER EPIC only ever hit the airwaves once, landing on NBC back in 1979… but you had to deal with commercials and NBC’s censors in viewing that version. A shortened version of THE GODFATHER EPIC hit VHS in 1981, but this is the first time you’ll have had the chance to watch it uninterrupted and as intended.
Sounds like HBO is making you an offer you can’t refuse, huh?
