Here’s your first look at Forest Whitaker in Lee Daniels’ The Butler

We haven’t even had a chance to view THE PAPERBOY, and already director Lee Daniels is working on something else. Today we get our first image from THE BUTLER. It’s a gorgeous shot of Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen, the White House servant who worked for eight First Families. The script is script based on a Washington Post article about Allen. Right now, filming is still taking place in New Orleans.

Since PRECIOUS, I think that Daniels approach to filmmaking will only become more grand and defined. He also has no problems getting together a cast. Along with Whitaker, we will see Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Minka Kelly, Alex Pettyfer, Lenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding Jr., Vanessa Redgrave, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman, James Marsden, Jane Fonda and Robin Williams. That’s not even the end of the list, so you can definitely say the talent is there.
